RULES

PARTICIPANTS

The Competition is open to violinist of all nationalities from all over the world, from 11 years old until 25 years old.

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION

The recordings must be sent by 8th of March 2024. Results will be published at the website the 31th of may.

APPLICATIONS

The recordings will be published electronically on Youtube.
The candidate must provide in the same sent a copy of the DNI or NIE, the certificate of the entity where he/she is currently studying or has studied in case of those who have finished their studies. Bank receipt with a contribution of 50 euros for the competition registration fee in categories A or B and 100 euros for the competition registration fee in categories C, D or E.

To apply you must fill out the form that appears on our website, and send the documents and proof of payment to info@niccolointernationalviolincompetition.com

Videos of the works will be accepted separately or in full. It must not be edited in any way. The interpreter must be visible during the whole recording. Otherwise he/she will be disqualified. The recording of the piece or movements can only be made in one camera shot, a movement can’t be edited in any way.

Candidates will be informed about their active participation until 12th of may.
The registration fee will be refunded only to those candidates who have not been accepted by the organization. In the case of participants who decide not to participate, the fee will not be refunded.


CATEGORIES

Category A is open to participants 11 years of age and younger.
Category B is open to participants from 12 to 14 years of age.
Category C is open for participants from 15 to 17 years of age.
Category D is open to participants 18 to 20 years.
Category E is open to participants 21 to 25 years.

REPERTOIRE

CATEGORY A

The program of free choice. The maximum time of the recording cannot exceed 10 minutes.

CATEGORY B

The program of free choice that includes at least two pieces or movements of different style. 
The maximum time of the recording cannot exceed 15 minutes.

CATEGORY C

One caprice to choose from the H. Wieniawski and the N. Paganini caprices.

A sonata or concerto movement.

A work of free choice to complete the time of the recording.
The maximum time of the recording cannot exceed 20 minutes.

CATEGORY D

Two contrasting movements of a partita or Sonata, or Suite by J.S. Bach

One caprice to choose from the Wieniawski and the Paganini caprices.

First movement of a violin concerto.
The maximum time of the recording cannot exceed 25 minutes.

CATEGORY E

Two contrasting movements of a partita or Sonata, or Suite by J.S. Bach

One caprice to choose from the Wieniawski and the Paganini caprices.

First movement of a violin concerto.
The maximum time of the recording cannot exceed 25 minutes.
